my take on religion :/

you wanna know what i think about religion??

i think there's too much of a hype surrounding it.

(ok don't throw ur knives at me. i'm entitled to my own opinion)

why is religion so important??
because it teaches you about the right way to live.
but we as humans have been taking this the wrong way, as we always do.

but before anyone gets the wrong drift, let me first clear the air.

it is not that i don't believe in god, because i do. (if you must know, i believe in most religions, hence most gods. i go to the temple and i go to church, both christian and catholic. i even used to attend sunday school)
it is just that i don't think that any one religion is better than the other. i don't see why ppl have to claim and state how great their god is. why the need to flaunt? i thought religion teaches you about humility and all that. why do you need to boast about god's greatness and talk about it in such light?

why is there the need to convert others? why is there the need to force your own beliefs unto others??? why is there the rule about marriage and marrying someone else with a similar religion??? WHY WHY WHY WHY???? because you believe that you are helping us by enabling us to learn the same way you have learnt??

but don't all religions teach you the same basic things (excuse the ones that caused the bombings and all that) which is to be HUMAN??

why the hype? why the hype??!?!?

how is one religion better than the other, pray tell.

and honestly, i don't think that atheists are any less human than the most staunch of all christians/buddhists/catholics/muslims. why? because learning the right way of living does NOT only come from religion, but from education and common sense, from the experience of living life itself and from listening when ur parents speak. isn't religion based on learning the right way to live? well, if you're able to source that from somewhere else, why does that make you any less of a person? in fact, u're as equal to the most religious person as long as both commit no sin.
religion doesn't mean you're greater than the next person, it just means that you've a different source from where you learnt how to live.

hey, sometimes, the ones with the religion are less humane than the ones without. don't get me started. seriously. :/

so all i'm saying is.
if you have a religion, good for you.
if you don't, don't feel any less of yourself. there's nothing to be intimidated or insecure about.

personally, i don't think that there needs to be such a hype about religion. it's just one of those "things" that we feel we have to do to repay god's kindness.

but i know that i am repaying god's kindness in my own way, and he/she will know it, without me having to pray all the time and without me having to let the whole world know.
if u're a good kid with a kind heart, truthful tongue and sharing nature, i think that's already an A. by helping others, A+!

okay. enough ranting. sleepy time! :)
