i think the concept of laughter is in itself very weird.
firstly, all babies laugh the exact same way
then as we grow up, we develop our own style of laughter. what determines your way of laughing? from tv shows? from friends? from people? and how do you choose or know how to laugh?
as far as i know, there are many different types of laugh that i myself have experienced or my observant eyes and partially-audible ears have noticed.
1) the loud barking OMGAWD IT REALLY IS FUNNY LAUGH
which can be easily typed out as WAHAHAHAHHAHAH AHWOHAWOHOAWEH AMWHAHWOAHOWAHWMAWOHWONYAHOAHOAHUAE kind of laugh. of course, it doesn't sound exactly like what i typed which sounds more like a baboon wailing, but you get my drift.
2) the fake laugh
which is something like hahahaha or huh huh huh or a smile with weird noises coming out. most often heard during conferences when the speaker attempts at a joke but fails desperately. and everyone goes huh huh huh -_-
3) the mature laugh
i don't know if everyone went through this phase, but i remember thinking it was cool when i heard my eldest cousin laugh in this particular way. i thought that it was one of those things you do when you're old and mature and wiser in so many ways, just like how you don't run everywhere or jump up and about..or how you speak with much more poise and direction and everything isn't so abstract anymore. later on, i also noticed that it wasn't only my cousin who had this laugh, but almost everyone else as well! so it must have been something that was going around hmph.
anyway, a mature laugh is one where air can be heard blowing out through your nose while only ONE shoulder is shaking. this is accompanied by a small smile and the lips are kept CLOSE throughout the laughter. -_-
i am VERY SURE that anyone would have seen at LEAST one person laughing in this particular way. what i don't get is the one-shoulder-shake. -_- it is ALWAYS accompanied with a one shoulder shake no matter who does it. i guess it's a sign to show others that they are laughing? otherwise i think they'd look just dumb blowing air throughout their nostrills alone. like a rhinoceros, but even they would stomp their hooves to show anger. :/
4) the typical girly laugh
teee-heeeee. nuff said. confirm fake laugh wan
5) -_- ok nvm
anywayyyyyy
the sort of laughter i like to hear best, is what Enid Blyton would describe as a hearty laugh.
and yes, everyone should know, that the RECOMMENDED daily dosage of laughter is ONE FULL HOUR everyday. it doesn't have to be all at once (i cannot imagine laughing for one whole entire hour -_-) but can be spread out throughout the day. but of course, fake mature laughs don't count... :)
so laugh away my friends... laugh away! :)
